How to Set a Table

It comes with a lot of extra pieces and I thought you might like some ideas on how you’re going to be using it in your home. One of the pieces that you don’t usually get is this smaller plate called the party plate. I like to use it as a bread plate when I’m setting a more formal table. But it’s also wonderful for your appetizers and hors d’ oeuvres. The perfect little stack of plates next to those delicious recipes that you’re preparing. It makes your guests feel very welcome and the size of the plate isn’t too overwhelming, so it’s easy to walk around with at a party. There are two different sizes of bowls in this Butterfly Meadow Set. One of them is a little bit more shallow, and we’re calling that bowl, the fruit bowl. But I also particularly like that bowl for a creamier based soup. You know, something that you might make in your Vitamix, like Cream of Broccoli. Something that does better in a shallow type of bowl, but at a breakfast or brunch perfect for fruit. Your heartier soup like chili or maybe even chicken noodle that has lots of great vegetables. That would be better suited for your deeper bowl. These are also nicer bowls to be used for a traditional salad and again, if you’re sort of using more of a lighter lettuce, like a spring mix, I would do that in a shallower bowl. Something heartier like a Caesar salad, I would do in your deeper bowl. There are two different plates in this set as well. This is actually called the accent plate, but it’s a pretty nice size. A lot of you might be reaching for this for your everyday sandwiches or a simple breakfast in the morning and then of course, the largest plate is the dinner plate. Really nice and large, so that there’s plenty of room for lots of helpings. When you set your table, you always put your dinner plate down first, then you’ll top it off with the accent plate. Your shallower fruit bowl will go on top of that and then you have your nice deeper bowl. This almost creates like a flower in bloom because of the beautiful scalloped edging. And don’t forget, you also get a beautiful 12 ounce mug with this as well. Nice capacity and great that it’s both dishwasher and microwave safe. If you need to reheat that cup of coffee or that cup of tea, you’re good to go. It’s beautiful dinnerware with the tradition of Lenox.
