Gravity-defying Noodle Cake I made this cake for one of my daughter's birthdays because she loves noodles! The "bowl" is chocolate cake, layered with Swiss meringue chocolate buttercream icing, and covered with chocolate ganache. All of the chocolate recipes are from the "How to Cake It" website. The sheet cake is a gluten-free banana cake, covered in a cream cheese frosting. To make the noodles "suspended," I used a stainless steel bubble tea straw and put a plastic bubble tea straw over it (by making 2 slits in the bottom of the plastic straw, inserting the stainless steel straw into the plastic one, then covering with clear packing tape for extra strength). I covered the straw apparatus in noodle-colored fondant (yellow + a dab of brown), then inserted the straw, stainless steel side down, into the cake.
