This week I try some wooden profile rib tools to give shape to pots. This is an experiment to see how easy and fun these are to use. I give you a few tips to make using these profiles easier. Overall I love shaping pots and experimenting with shape by hand and I often use a flexible rib for shaping.... however these create much more uniformity and make the pots look a little mechanical. Which may or may not be a good thing - depending on what you are trying to achieve with your pots. The extra take away: I show you a little trick that might help you when removing your pots from the wheel! Take aways: Experiment with profiles, Remove pots from the wheel without deforming.
