They have characteristics in their DNA that make them useful for language learning purposes; here we aim to bridge the challenges posed by teaching through physical interactions as learners and teachers can access language tools from their devices. The COVID-19 pandemic caused many schools to close down. Some schools however continued to offer online classes to their students. While it was easy for teachers of English and other subjects to access materials online, teachers of Kiswahili from over 50 schools within Nairobi said they struggled to prepare teaching and learning materials. It was evident that a platform populated with a range of Kiswahili worksheets and activities would come in handy to help both teachers and learners learn Kiswahili in an easy and fun way.
