📢🇪🇺 New Campaign Against Prostitution in the EU 🇪🇺📢

Sweden was the first country in the world to introduce a sex purchase act. It has changed people's attitudes towards prostitution and reduced the demand for women's bodies. It is promising that several countries have introduced similar legislation in recent years. But if we really want to combat violence against women, a joint offensive against the sex industry is required throughout Europe. It’s time for member states to make sure that all women in the EU are given equal protection from men's violence, including protection from being bought for sex. Swedish Women’s Lobby together with #intedinhora, Brussel Call, European Women’s Lobby and CAP International are launching the campaign EUquality Model Now against prostitution and human trafficking in Europe. The purpose of the campaign is to spread knowledge about how criminalizing the purchase of sex and pimping reduces the demand for prostitution and offers protection to victims of prostitution.
