#pathofexile #memebuild The Story Behind the Build: So lets jump back to the start of the league. I had planned to Start Toxic Rain deadeye as I felt that would be a really fun and good way to kick off the league. But about two days prior to the launch of Echos, my friend (Who goes by Anathema) was theory crafting battlemage builds and this one stuck out to me. I suggested that i stick to my deadeye start and play this second and he basically said "start this, you won't. coward" So I did. lol. The Build Itself: Doom stacking Hexblast Inquisitor https://pastebin.com/5xjNfz8u is uh, actually quite meh. I spent the first couple weeks of the league at below 1mil Ignite DPS which was quite frustrating. After all Anathema didn't give me a POB but rather just the base concept. I.E Battlemage + Xoph's Nurture. But after powering through most of the game regardless of that fact, and hating every second, I really started to take a look at the build and PoB my own ways to improve it. Things like Doomstacking Via flammability, Replica Emberwake, Ignite Clusters. All these things helped push the build from being mediocre at everything to a pretty strong bossing character. I actually ended up running something like 300 mavens on this Character. I find it funny that I spent the first two weeks complaining about how bad this build was, then I spent two more months playing it. The Video's Visual inspiration: While MTX content has long been my bread and butter, Build videos are where I feel like I truly have the ability to let loose creatively. Honestly I knew nothing about video editing before I started this channel so trying to push each new project father and farther visually is both a learning experience and something that truly excites me. The inspiration for this video is simply comics, or manga. I wanted to make something that conveyed all the information about the build i thought was interesting enough to share, but also held a consistent visual style that made you feel like you we're reading a comic, complete with a dark and twisty ending. It took two months to edit it from start to finish. Most of the video is pre-rendered in a custom 3000x6000 resolution that I used for the page templates, some parts of the video (like the intro https://streamable.com/shl0sa) have up to 6 layers of pre-composed movement and animation before they we're sent to the final comp. we then use camera scripting to move from slide to slide to convey information. Animations are a mix of clever 2D automation tricks, some pre-comped effects from envato, and white box framework Processing. https://systemerrorwang.github.io/Whi... The White Box Cartoonization Framework: So this is the crux of the Video. I discovered the paper on the framework and the very end of my editing process and it was the little bit extra I felt the video really needed, since before I struggled to really get the look that i wanted. White box let me Drop most of my plans for any rotoscoping/2d animation and instead just process certain parts of the video using it. The white box framework is a cartoonization python script that lets us convert images into a simplified format. however, it can't naturally do video so we have to decompile our clips into slides using ffmpeg and then process them, and then recompile using ffmpeg again. The result is a washed out look with heavy lines that really reinforces the original concept I had for the video. and honestly, I couldn't be happier with this project. Conclusion: I really hope you enjoyed the Video, I had so much fun making it. Huge thanks to my patrons and Anathema, Squid and Loaf, for really giving me the motivation to make such an insane project.
