12 carros alegóricos e mais de 500 foliões comemoraram nos dias 03 e 05 de Março de 2019 os 120 anos do Carnaval de Moncarapacho na vila do concelho de Olhão. A história do Carnaval de Moncarapacho começou em 1899 com estudantinas de origem espanhola, que mascaradas percorriam as ruas da aldeia no Domingo Gordo e no dia de Entrudo. O primeiro carro alegórico surgiu em 1913 e o número não parou de aumentar nos anos seguintes, com a sátira ou a representação da realidade nacional e internacional sempre presentes, como, por exemplo, quando em 1923 um ano após a travessia aérea entre Lisboa e o Rio de Janeiro, desfilou um carro alegórico representando um avião, simbolizando o glorioso feito. No desfile deste ano não faltou um carro a simbolizar os 120 anos do Carnaval de Moncarapacho, num desfile que levou os seus visitantes desde a antiga civilização romana até ao mundo imaginário dos Hobbits, passando pelos países da moderna comunidade europeia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 12 floats and more than 500 revelers celebrated on March 03 and 05, 2019 the 120 years of the Carnival of Moncarapacho in the village of the county of Olhão. The history of the Carnival of Moncarapacho began in 1899 with students of Spanish origin, who masquerades roamed the streets of the village on Sunday Gordo and the Day of Entrudo.
