The lines “Hverir eru þeir tveir? Er tíu hafa fætr, augu þrjú ok einn hala. Er Óðinn ríðr Sleipnir.” come from the Saga of Hervör and Heidrek. Odin has only one eye, while his horse Sleipnir has eight legs. The first list of horses and the lines “Þeim ríða ęsir ióm dag hvern er þeir dǫma fara, at asci Yggdrasils.” are taken from the Poetic Edda. The final list of horses is taken from various bits of the Prose Edda, although the list itself as shown in the official lyric-video, is actually copy-pasted from the French Wikipedia page about the horses of the Æsir, bearing even the same typos, which I took the liberty to correct (e.g. Lettfeti instead of Léttfeti, Tjaldari instead of Tjalðari, Thegn instead of Þegn…): https://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?... I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me. Any suggestion and/or observation is warmly welcome.
