Girnar Darshan Video : It was during the reign of Lord Sagar, who was the third Tirthankar in the immediate previous cycle of 24 Tirthankars, that Brahmendra, a celestial being found out in Lord’s sermon about his future salvation. Brahmendra was told that he would attain liberation along with the 22nd Tirthankar of the next Chauvisi, Lord Neminath. Hearing this, Brahmendra carved out the idol of Lord Neminath and spent his time in devotion. As time passed, the idol was brought to Dwarka city. During the annihilation of Dwarka, goddess Ambika took that idol and placed it in the Kanchangiri caves (Girnar). There it was worshipped by celestial beings for some time. 2000 years after the salvation of Lord Neminath, a Jain follower called Ratnasha began his pilgrimage on foot towards Girnar, along with a group of devotees. At that time, the idol of Lord Neminath at Girnar was made of ‘Venu’ or clay. Upon reaching Girnar, Ratnasha and others were filled with joy and carried out the ritual of ‘Snatra Puja’ (a type of worship) with great fervor. Followed by pakshal, the clay idol disintegrated causing shock and grief to the yatriks. Seeing this, Ratnasha felt deep misery and took a vow to fast atop Girnar. Seeing his ardent devotion and faith, Goddess Ambika appeared and guided him to the caves where the current idol was placed. With heavenly help, the idol was brought down to the main temple and to this day remains the same Ambika Devi, the Adhishtayika Devi of Girnar is present even today and answer the prayers of devotees through her blessing.
