She was born with Spastic Displegia, a form of Cerebral Palsy that affects motor control of the lower limbs and causes visual impairment. Following two difficult years, Eliana’s mum discovered a procedure called ‘Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy’. Though the procedure offers the much-needed hope of correcting Eliana’s condition, it is only available in the USA and at a huge price. So Eliana’s mum and family started fundraising. As Eliana’s older sister is at Saint Ronan's, the school stepped in to help. At first they did a local sponsored walk but, with more money still to raise, another idea emerged… to record a song and make a music video featuring the Saint Ronan’s children. Keane's ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ had always been a favourite on trips to visit Eliana in hospital so it was the perfect choice. With the band’s blessing, the project was underway.
