Current Affairs: India-US-2+2 Dialogue

India and US have held their first ever '2+2 dialogue', marking a new milestone in a flourishing relationship. Here we analyse the impact of India signing the COMCASA agreement and the way ahead for strategic and defence co-operation between the two countries. Both sides have held discussions on various issues of global and regional significance, including - rising Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific region and their mutual pursuit of a rules-based order for the Indo-Pacific. But the relationship is not free from hiccups as India is concerned about US sanctions on Russia and Iran and its impact on India's defence and energy ties with them, respectively. India is particularly worried about possible secondary sanctions being placed on it under CAATSA, if it goes ahead with the S-400 missile deal with Russia.
