It's not often I'm stunned when reviewing a boat. However, George's absolutely gem of an express, a 2011 Bandy 27, is stunning in many ways. Let's start with its looks - it looks like a custom Carolina express boat. And that's not by accident as George designed this boat with legendary Maryland custom boat builder Reid Bandy to have all the hallmarks of a Carolina build, but eschewing a deep vee hull for a more "Chesapeake Bay" style warped plane hull design where the bow is deep but the deadrise gradually tapers towards the stern, allowing for easy planing and incredible efficiency. How efficient? Try 4 mpg at 20 mph. Truly incredible. After 14 years of ownership, and the loss of a consistent crew, George is offering this beauty for sale at 100k.
