Premiering Thursday June 7, 2012 at 10:00 pm on CTV (Canada) and on NBC (USA). Starring: Erica Durance, Daniel Gillies and Michael Shanks. Synopsis: What would you do, if someone you loved was sick? Or you were dying? Anything. You would take any drug, have any surgery, see every doctor. And also you would pray. You would call a psychic, you would meditate -- you would do everything you could to sustain hope. This is the premise of Saving Hope, a one-hour medical drama that explores the tension between the medical and the spiritual. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) is a whip-smart, beautifully empathetic general surgeon who came to Hope-Zion and fell in love. The show begins on her wedding day. The worst day of her life. Her fiancé, Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks), charismatic and charming Chief of Surgery is left comatose when their cab is T-boned by an SUV. Enter Alex's ex-beau, Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies). Joel is an orthopedic surgeon and surgery is his life. His arrival brings a jolt of electricity to Hope-Zee, and he and Alex strike up an unlikely friendship. Meanwhile, comatose Charlie is having a mind-blowing out of body experience, walking the hospital halls in his tux, not sure if he's a ghost or a figment of his own imagination. Despite the hospital reeling without its top surgeon and Alex facing her worst nightmare, lives keep needing to be saved. Along with her fellow doctors -- Maggie Lin (Julia Taylor Ross) a junior surgical resident, Shahir Hamza, (Huse Madhavji), Alex's friend and Charlie's neurosurgeon and Gavin Murphy (Kristopher Turner) a psych resident -- Alex presses on, and find the balance between the science of healing, and the healing science of hope.
