Strongman Sets New World Record by Lifting a Helicopter in Austria

Franz Muellner is already a multiple world record holder who is renowned for executing extreme feats of strength with the ease of someone who is clearly super-human. He hasn't been able to rest since last not being able to beat his own personal best for the Heaviest Weight Lifted on His Shoulders, and now he has been able to do so... and all despite even a broken toe he suffered earlier in the same week! A big softie away from the heavy lifting and displays of strength, Franz was relaxed during the build-up to the stunt and told Newsivity how joking around and having a laugh was what makes him not feel any fear before highly dangerous stunts like this one: "I am the Austrian Rock, and I am the strongest extreme sports person on Planet Earth. In the words of our other famous Austrian strongman Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'll be back... for bigger and even more extreme stunts!" he said. He also told Newsivity: "I've taken things to the limit ever since I was a young kid. I always went that one step too far when younger, and I still do the same now. My whole family are just like that, and I will carry on pushing the limits as long as I can!" Muellner beat his own previously held record of 560 kg (1,234 lb) on his shoulders for 30 seconds while the helicopter landed on a frame which he was partly lifting, as with this same attempt. The previous record was achieved on the set of El Show Olímpico, in Mexico City, Mexico, on 31 July 2008. Earlier this year he attempted to better his record on the seventh series of Italy’s Lo Show dei Record, but his attempt was unsuccessful. After this successful attempt, the new world record for Heaviest Weight Lifted on Shoulders stands at a whopping 661 KG's set in the picturesque mountains of Katschberg in Austria.
