Ala Moana Bowls was Firing on June 26 and June 27. June 27 was a little more manageable and all the pros and advance surfers were out there to get a piece of that action. Bowls is basically the closest thing we have to banzai pipeline of the North Shore. It's the most popular wave on the South Shore for short boarders and professional surfers. It's also the most photographed break on the South Shore other than Queens surf break. When Bowls is good, there's definitely a pecking order at this sought after local reef break which is why it's the most agro (aggressive) break on the South Shore followed by Kaisers, Threes, Queens, and Publics (make a note if you are visiting).
