Exoplanets are dazzlingly diverse, ranging from hot Jupiters, in close to their host stars, to terrestrial planets just a little larger than our own Earth. These are called super Earths. The closest super Earth is around a low-mass star, known as an M-dwarf. M-dwarfs are very active and bombard their exoplanets with radiation. What if we could find a super Earth that was around a star more like our Sun? This is exactly what was discovered by Dr Shweta Dalal. In this video, we will take a look at the method that was used to discover this star, the radial velocity method, and find out a little more about discovered planets.
