They come with those cheap remotes that have just a couple colors and a few animations. I want to be able to dial in any color I want and write my own animations that are all selectable from a slick screen on my smartphone. This video goes over a simple project to just control the color of an entire WS2812 panel of LEDs through an Arduino by receiving the color data from a smartphone app via Bluetooth Low Energy...
