Re-creation of world's first electric vehicle drives through Paris

140년 전에 만들어진 첫 전기차 복제품…파리 거리 달리다 Parisians might have spotted an unusual vehicle roaming around the center of town. The rare sighting was a replica of the first viable battery-powered electric car. It was commissioned by MAXUS, a leading EV commercial vehicle brand to celebrate the one-hundred-40th anniversary of the world's first rechargeable electric vehicle. "The history of electric vehicles is really rooted a lot further back than people realise. So I think it's really great to have a celebration 140 years on that shows that this technology was around and did exist and was actually adopted quite widely back at the start." The recreation paid homage to French inventor and electrical engineer, Gustave Trouve who is regarded to have invented and driven the earliest electric car on the roads in April 1881. The model, which is very similar to a modern e-bike, travels at an average speed of roughly 16 kilometers per hour just like the original one.
