In this video, I decided to run Potassium.exe inside a Windows 8.1 x64 VM to see what it would do. It showed some surprisingly beautiful GDI effects and the strange bytebeat that was playing in the program made noise at random frequencies. At one point, it started playing a high-pitched version of the same bytebeat sequence, which made the whole thing feel even more crazy. Near the end of the test, things went completely off the rails. Potassium.exe killed explorer.exe, messed up file associations by mixing *.exe files with *.mp4 files using the assoc command, and then deleted both HKLM and HKCU from the registry. That basically bricked the entire system and made it impossible to boot again. If you enjoyed watching this experiment, make sure to like and subscribe!
