Hi everyone! Two weeks have flown by! Time for a brand new Train Cab Ride through the Dutch countryside. And this time I’ll take you all for another ride on the HSL. It’s been a while. Today we drive in intercity train from Den Haag Centraal to Eindhoven. Between Rotterdam Lombardijen and Breda we’ll pass a short piece of High Speed Line. If you wanna have better look inside, make sure to check you my Instagram later. 2:24 Den Haag HS 4:44 Informing Train Manager After departure in Den Haag and the arrival at HS there were some minor problems with the door system. I did not get my 'ding dong' at departure. And at arrival the doors would not open immediately. This I report to the train manager so he knows it sometimes can take some extra time to open the doors. 7:27 Reporting to Technical Support After departure from HS I report to technical support about the minor door system problem. After a short conversation we agreed to reset the door system at the final stop of the route so passengers won't get delayed if we do it earlier. The door system works normally for the passengers, it's just some extra work for me as a driver. 8:35 Den Haag Moerwijk 9:30 Rijswijk After passing Rijswijk you can see the construction works between Rijswijk and Delft Campus are progressing fast now. In the meantime since this video new tracks have been placed as well. Hope to give you an update soon again. 12:50 Delft 16:25 Delft Campus 17:36 Contact Train Manager Just after Delft Campus I'll give another update to the train manager so he can reset the door system in the train as well as soon as we reach our final destination. After the reset the minor problems should be fixed. 22:15 Schiedam Centrum - Delayed Train! There's a slightly delayed train ahead of us. This causes the red light just before Schiedam Centrum. And because of that we'll arrive just over 30 seconds late at Rotterdam Centraal. 24:27 Rotterdam Centraal At departure in Rotterdam you can hear the train manager beeping me up because the doors were already closed. I was already aware of that and right on that moment the train had loosened its brakes. Off we go! 29:45 Rotterdam Blaak 31:16 Rotterdam Zuid 31:54 Rotterdam Stadion Soccer fans go wild! 32:44 Rotterdam Lombardijen + Entering HSL After Rotterdam Lombardijen we enter the high speed line. The first block on the HSL is driven in ERTMS Level 1. After passing the seconds SMB (stop maker board) we have entered ERTMS Level 2. From this moment on the train gets all the information for the RBC (radio block center) wherefrom it gets all the drivers information needed to drive on the HSL. Under L1 the train gets the info from the yellow blocks (balise) in the tracks. 40:44 Brug Hollandsch Diep As always a stunning view on the Bridge over the Hollandsch Diep! After this we will get through the Phase-lock which separates two phases of high voltage from each other. Just a few kilometers ahead we depart from the HSL back unto the conventional tracks. The train roll without power for over 7 kilometers from Lage Zwaluwe until we've entered the conventional tracks. 43:36 Leaving HSL 46:47 Breda Prinsenbeek 48:50 Breda A short stop at Breda and then we continue towards Tilburg and Eindhoven. 57:31 Gilze-Rijen 59:50 Tilburg Reeshof Just after Tilburg Reeshof I'll try washing the windows. This station has been updated a few years ago. Here's another football stadion! :D 1:26:29 Eindhoven Centraal - Shunting to Track 61 After arrival in Eindhoven I reset the door system with the train managers help. While this is done nothing special happens, so I cut it out of the video. After the system has been reset the doors a closed and we shunt the train away from the station.
