Zoe Sugg is just 25 years old, but she's all ready one of the most influential people in the UK. Millions of young women hold her up as their idol and aspire to have her life: a £1million house in Brighton, stacks of cash in the bank, a debut novel that out-sold EL James and JK Rowling in its first week of its release and equally successful (and attractive) boyfriend, fellow superstar Youtuber Alfie Deyes, 22. Zoe does seem to have it all. Her incredible success snowballed after Zoe started filming videos in her bedroom and blogging under the name Zoella in 2009, as a way to help overcome her anxiety. In just seven years, Zoe's become the queen of the YouTube generation - boasting over 10million followers across her social networks, plus over 12million subscribers to her two YouTube channels and has estimated fortune of over £10million. Since the inception of her brand, Zoe's inspired and entire generation of bloggers, all eager to achieve her level of success. But is everything really as it seems? In November 2014, Zoe's first novel Girl Online become the highest-selling novel ever for a debut author. People questioned how on earth someone who vlogs at least once a day (sometimes more) found the time to write a novel, an shortly afterwards Zoe's publisher Penguin confirmed she'd used a ghost writer (Siobhan Curham) to help her wrote the book. Her fans understandably felt betrayed - accusing Zoe of hoodwinking them into believing it was all her own work. Zoe took a 24-hour break from the Internet before coming back and rebuilding the trust of her loyal followers. But in November 2015, rumours started on Twitter and blogging websites that Zoe was getting help again, this time for her award-winning blog. Would Zoe really risk her credibility by using a ghost writer for her posts? Heat investigated further and this is what we found... THE MYSTERY OF THE BRIGHTON BLOGGER. On 14 February 2014, Gleam futures - who manage Zoe and other big-name YouTubers - did a Twitter shout out asking for bloggers based near Brighton to get in touch, including a writer called Carrie Fry. Carrie is a blogger and this November, was the person accused of being Zoella's ghost writer. On 11th November 2015, a blog post about Zoe's campaign with Gap from September 2015 posted onto Zoella's official Facebook Page with Carrie Fry as the author, not Zoella. Within seconds, the thread was full of accusatory comments, but less than two minutes later, the post was deleted and put up again - this time, the author cited as Zoella. Carrie and Zoe were inundated with question from fans online, but Zoe vehemently denied the accusations and told her 4.6 million Twitter followers "Oh, and just for the record, I write all my own blog post & put a lot of effort into them. Thanks for the bloggers who didn't join in on the 'Zoella witch hunt'. Appreciate it. I'm going to write my blog now..." Some of her fans didn't seem convinced though. "I'd be really sad if Zoella's blog is ghost written. I found out about blogging through her and it's completely lost her..." Said one of her fans.
