"Transfiguration" (2.15.26, Pastor Madison Ailinger)

On the last Sunday before the beginning of Lent we tell the story of the Transfiguration – a moment when Jesus was transformed in glory and radiated with God’s own light. In this moment, he is surrounded by two key figures from his people’s history (and the Old Testament) – Moses (representing the Law) and Elijah (representing the prophets). In this story, we see how Jesus is a continuation of what God has already been doing and a moment when that history of faithfulness finds its fulfillment, being transformed into a moment of overwhelming light and joy.
