Police Shooting of Jose Arenas

On April 3, 2021, 26 year old Jose Arenas was fatally shot after pointing a gin at a Officer. Earlier police were getting 911 calls about a man pointing a gun at people. When Officers arrived they saw the man named Jose Arenas pointing a gun at a Family and then at the police helicopter. Arenas was then given orders to drop the gun, but Arenas ran into a restaurant which had people in there. Arenas then pointed the gun two people and then Arenas assaulted the two people. An Officer that told Arenas to drop the gun earlier then ran into the restaurant and told Arenas to drop the gun. Arenas pointed the gun at the Officer causing the Officer to shoot at Arenas, Arenas was struck. After the shooting Officers checked the back of the restaurant and then provided medical aid to Arenas, Arenas was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The gun Arenas used was recovered at the scene. No one was injured.
