Here with a healthy dose of thalassophobia we have the seas of the Late Cretaceous, a time when our oceans were at their cruellest and deadliest, when the demented cries of true monsters haunted the deep. 66 million years ago, the Atlantic Ocean was only half as wide, with never a single iceberg in sight, and was home to the largest marine reptiles the world has ever seen. Dinosaur groups such as the Mosasaurs dominated during this period, but sadly the inevitable would come to them as it would to any other, and all marine reptiles bar the turtles, sea snakes, crocodiles, and lizards would succumb to the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction. Dinosaurs featured include the Mosasaurids Halisaurus, Globidens, Mosasaurus, Playtcarpus, Prognathodon, and Tylosaurus. Elasmosaurus and its relative Styxosaurus and the polycotylid plesiosaurs Dolichorhynchops and Serpentisuchops.
