Bet you never would have guessed, All credit for this goes to Scott (Trashman242) for telling me where this was. I have been hoping and hoping over the past 2 years or so that LA does in fact still have some of these left. The supervisor in the East Valley yard said all the 300s are gone because they didnt work out too well with the trucks 30-90 grippers. At that point I pretty much lost all hope they still had any. I guess he was just talking about the 300s that were in East Valley, because as you can clearly see, San Pedro still has some left! Thanks to Scott this video was possible! Yes, Your seeing this right, standard 30-90 gallon grippers do work with 300 gallon containers, but just barely. These containers are owned by the owners of the Projects throughout Los Angeles, not the Bureau themselves. All other Projects have been converted to FL dumpsters, but for some reason, these were left as 300 gallon containers. Truck 36808 does this route regularly, As you can see the arm is set to have a very fluid motion so it doesnt throw the cans in the hopper or on the ground. Really fun to watch and pretty crazy to see such a massive can flip over the mast of an everyday Amrep ASL. Enjoy the video, as its not likely to happen again any time soon. But maybe, just maybe we will return for some more footage. You'll notice he doesnt pick up every container, only the ones that actually have trash in them. Big thanks to the driver for being so cool with us taggin' along for a bit to film. To all others who think they want to film here, I wouldnt reccommend it. It is after all, the Projects. I felt comfortable enough to film here because I was with someone, dont think I would have done so alone.
