As the West along with classical traditions are gradually losing their propulsion, a new cult born from the rich East is quickly conquering the decaying roman world. After the third century crysis and unseccesful attempts to persecute it, new emperors, starting from Constantine, begin to adopt Christianity to legitimate their absolute power. In this process the East and its capital, Byzantium, manage to transform and survive the deflagration that would soon invest ancient Rome and the western world, abandoned to barbarians and pestilences. Will this new "Roman" empire be able to reborn and flourish again without its old motherland and to reaffirm its power while leaving behind its former glory in the darkest time humankind ever experienced before? An 8 scenario campaign centered around the Eastern roman empire and its capital in late antiquity, from emperor Constantine to Heraclius, where you will play as Byzantines, slightly reworked to fit the late roman period. Every scenario has unique features and gameplay: never pure build and destroy but always with some strategic or rpg elements while still feeling like the original game.
