In July 2018 I attended the European Space Agency's Alpbach Summer School in Austria, where we had to design a sample return mission to a small body (asteroid, comet, etc) in ten days. It was as fulfilling as it was exhausting, and I'm so proud of what my team and I accomplished during this time. You can read my blog about the school here: https://www.lucykissick.co.uk/esa-alp... If you would like to apply for next year's school, here is the website: https://www.summerschoolalpbach.at And if you have any questions about the application or what it is like, please get in touch: Twitter: @LeKissick Website: www.lucykissick.co.uk Email: [email protected] - With many thanks to... My teammates: Denis Barros Caballero Nini Berge Carlo Convenevole Zelia Dionnet Gauthier Duvieusart Florine Enengl Grigori Fedorets Felix Hessinger Bartosz Kędziora Adam Kiss Javier Navarro Montilla Moritz Novak Hannah Petersson Kristin Pump Our tutors, Günter Kargl and Cecelia Tubiana The UK Space Agency, for funding my time in Alpbach The European Space Agency and the Austrian Space Agency, for making Alpbach happen each year Michel Jakob, the school's official photographer, whose photos I use with credits here Felix Hessinger, for filming the presentation at the end Michaela Gitch, for organising the summer school Peter Falkner, for encouragement to the team as head tutor Milou, for being a beautiful dog - The music in this video is 'Time Travel With Friends' by the post-rockers Waking Aida. I do not own this song but I have obtained their permission to use it in my video. You can purchase their albums here at Bandcamp: https://wakingaida.bandcamp.com - My name is Lucy Kissick. I'm an almost-third year PhD student at the University of Oxford, where I work in the Department of Earth Sciences creating Martian lakes in the lab that are sadly too small to swim in. I love cats more than people and I think I love Pluto more than Mars, but don't tell anyone that.
