The 2018 Manila International Auto Show Car Launches

The Manila International Auto Show or MIAS returned for its 15th year edition. With the theme “Work and Play”, the 2018 MIAS not only catered to the needs and interests of car enthusiasts but it also provided a venue for the local automotive industry players to showcase their products. The 2018 MIAS recently took place at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The major highlight of the four-day event was the launching of the newest products from the different participating car companies during the opening day. Each of the car companies had their own gimmicks set up in their respective areas which visitors and guests enjoyed. Isuzu Philippines Corporation, together with GENCARS, Inc., launched the latest variants of Isuzu mu-X with the new innovative RZ4E engine. According to Isuzu, this new engine is set to replace Isuzu’s existing 2.5-liter variants and will be made available first to the Isuzu mu-X and later will be introduced to the D-MAX model. Suzuki Philippines also took the stage with the preview of the soon-to-be-launched Suzuki Dzire with Auto Gear Shift technology upgrade. SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp or SMCACDC, the official importer and distributor of BMW in the country, brought the BMW Pavilion to the World Trade Center. Aside from it displayed BMW’s latest lineup, it also featured the BMW M1, the brand’s first success story in motorsport and the only BMW M1 in the country, according to the company. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. left their customers and supporters in awe with the unveiling of the all-new Hyundai Veloster, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, and the new Hyundai Kona. These four models haven’t been seen in the country before. Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, formally introduced the Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology at the World Trade Center. Also among the list is Ford Philippines which surprised their supporters with the launching of the new Mustang Convertible and the all-new Expedition. According to the organizer, these big launches as well as the displays from the local car companies and manufacturers reflected the goal of the 2018 MIAS.
