Join Steve Starling, a Volunteer Docent, at the Savoy Automobile Museum to take A Quick Look at a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country Woodie. Chrysler first introduced the Town & Country model in 1941 as a station wagon. However, production was halted later that year due to the U.S. entry into World War II following the attack on Pearl Harbor, which led to a suspension of all civilian automobile manufacturing. When civilian production resumed in the fall of 1945, Chrysler reintroduced the Town & Country—this time as a sedan rather than a station wagon, marking a notable shift in its design approach. ------------------------------------------------------------- Savoy Automobile Museum connects people to the cultural diversity of the automobile. Through changing exhibits, educational programs, and engaging experiences individuals have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty and history of automobiles.
