Visiting buddhist temple Wat Phrathat Renu Nakhon - impressions / วัดธาตุเรณู | on tour |

We are visiting Wat Phrathat Renu Nakhon. Wat Phrathat Renu Nakhon is on of the most sacred buddhist temple in Nakhon Phanom. The pink-and-white chedi measures around 35 meter and was build in 1918. It is a replica of the 57meter high chedi from Wat Phra That Phanom. Inside the chedi you can find buddhist sculpture and a golden buddha image. This temple is located near the Mekong river in the town of Renu Nakhon in the northeast of thailand. From Udon Thani you have to drive around 230 Kilometer, from That Phanom roughly 15 and if you are located in Nakhon Phanom then you need to drive little above 50 kilomters south on Highway No. 212 The temple also hosts a good textile market with locally made fabrics and clothes as well as silk and cotton from Laos and the rest of Thailand.
