Low melt solder is unlike the normal solder you maybe used too. It remains molten for longer, enabling you to remove components easily. I bought the leaded version, as it has an even more lower melting point than the others, at just 53c. If buying a tube at around £40+ is a little too steep, you can buy just one stick, about 6" for around £7ish from ebay. Buy a stick and keep it to hand, one day it will get you out of trouble, and you will be thankful you bought it.
