All right, today I'm gonna dive in to the tape on Dillon Gabriel, quarterback from Oregon. Obviously, he bounced around through college but finished up at Oregon and had a great year this year. Lots to like about him. Smaller guy, very compact in his motion. I thought at the combine, the pace on his football was better than any of the other guys on the shorter to intermediate throws—which I think surprised me for sure, and surprised a lot of people given his size. But good pace on the football on those underneath, tight throws. Now, it’s the challenge of the deeper throws. And I thought at the combine, the deeper throws got away from him a little bit. As you have to create and generate more power to throw those balls, obviously it’s more difficult to be efficient. So, that was something I wanted to look at on tape. And I thought it was kind of up and down. On tape, he shows that he can make those throws—we’re gonna see that today—but also had some problems pushing the ball down the field, and his accuracy started to diminish a little bit on those throws. Now, everybody diminishes as they throw the ball further down the field, but I thought it was a little more dramatic with Dillon. But there is a lot to like—his efficiency getting the ball out, his accuracy on those underneath throws—were all really, really good things.
