Welcome to my week Snow is still on the ground, we’re finishing leftovers, trimming around the house, and slowly working on new projects. In this vlog, I’m sharing a real look into our life as Bosnian immigrants building our version of the American Dream. It’s been eight years since I moved to the United States, and in just six years my husband and I were able to buy a home we could afford — without living paycheck to paycheck. The value of our house has almost doubled since we purchased it, and we’ve saved over $100,000 by doing most of the repairs ourselves. It hasn’t been easy. At one point, we even took almost a year off from projects because we were simply exhausted. But now, our energy feels renewed. The trim turned out beautifully, we’re planning to paint this weekend (maybe even the fireplace!), and I’ll take you along for the journey. I also share little moments from Westchester life — finding Turkish coffee while editing, spending time in cozy coffee bars, and balancing a new, exciting (but consuming) job with home life. This is what building a life looks like for us — step by step, project by project. If you enjoy lifestyle vlogs, immigrant stories, DIY home projects, and honest reflections about building a life in America, you’re in the right place.
