A.T. Still University’s Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) Program Director Dr. Randy Danielsen shares his military history and unique opportunities for activity duty and retired military PAs. Randy Danielsen, PhD, PA-C Emeritus, DFAAPA served 28 years with the Air Force and the Army National Guard, and retired in 1998 as a Desert Storm veteran with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. “It was the military that really began the first PA programs back in 1965, so the opportunity to say thank you and we’re here to mentor you along is extremely exciting. About five years ago, we started looking at what was going on in the profession and we found out that many opportunities that PAs could have had, they weren’t having because they didn’t have the credentials. We put together a professional doctoral degree and geared it toward PAs who want to enhance their practice, enhance their opportunity to move into academia or a leadership position.” ATSU’s DMSc program is a fully online doctoral degree that can be completed from anywhere. A.T. Still University offers a 20% tuition discount to U.S. military active duty members and veterans interested in the DMSc program.
