HANDMADE Campervan Kitchen Pt 1 | Fiat Ducato L2H2 | UK Self-Build Campervan Conversion

In this video we show you how we made a start on the last big piece of campervan furniture - our kitchen. We designed and build the kitchen cabinets ourselves out of 18mm poplar ply which is light weight but sturdy. We needed to incorporate a fridge, hob and sink as well as gas pipework, electrical wiring and hot air ducting under the units. We then finished them using Valspar V700 Wood and Metal paint in Eggshell before making a start on cutting our worktop. This was much more stressful than it needed to be because I missed the part in the instructions that said to cut in depths of 4mm to ensure a clean cut but I managed to rescue it and we got the worktop cut to size. We chose a solid laminate worktop from Wickes called Zenith Cloudy Cement. It was a bit more pricey than we'd have liked but it's heat and damp resistant and looks modern and clean with its face concrete finish. In two we'll start assembling the drawers and cupboards, cut more holes in the worktop and then fit it all together!
