For the release of my first single through https://www.homegrownworship.com, I thought I'd "Take it outside" and get to celebrate and worship to the song I haven't fully played since I recorded it in October 2019. Hope you are able to sing along with the words and understand the "Pattern of His Love" for you. Spotify Link: http://open.spotify.com/album/7aAfPwY... Behind the Song: Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art form where the potter fuses the broken pieces of a vessel back together and highlights the cracks with gold. Making the vessel even better after it's been broken. The idea is to embrace the flaws and demonstrate that in brokenness there is still hope. I remember hearing the word Kintsugi before, but never looked it up. When I presented this song to my writing partner Nick Law, he came back suggesting I use the word Kintsugi in the chorus. This concept/metaphor wrecked me for days! At first, I thought, “Who in their right mind would use this word in a worship song?” But the more I prayed and thought about it, the imagery was too perfect and Kintsugi couldn’t be left out. Kintsugi is a metaphor showing how even though you might struggle with your "broken pieces", when you let God work, He often displays His love and power through our imperfection.
