I've done 2 more head shot scan of my in-law on both Otter and Raptor's NIR with the new CR Scan 3.2.14 Here's what I found. Dual scan technic works great with Otter. Body mode has much bigger detection area and it locks on shoulder while scanning the head. This makes it tracks very well. Then I use face mode to scan higher detail of the face then merge them together. New software 3.2.14 merging has a lot of improvement. Meshing also improve but the result is too soft for my liking. Lasso selection tool has some bug; it doesn't show where pointer has been moved. Otter has higher detail point cloud than Raptor, but after meshing, they look very similar. Otter's by far the best scanner in the market for head shot scan. Average user should be able to scan effortlessly. You really need to print this with SLA printer to reveal all the detail. 3D Markers download link.
