Onion the Seal - transfer to benefit the Species Survival Plan

We know you miss Onion, because we miss him, too! Onion is part of the Harbor Seal Species Survival Plan, which oversees the healthy, genetically diverse, and demographically varied zoological population of harbor seals. Onion is leaving Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to potentially breed with harbor seals at another AZA-accredited Zoo, helping to ensure the sustainability of the harbor seal population. Although our animal and vet care team members will miss interacting with Onion daily, we are so happy he is headed to a good home with the potential to breed.
