Both filters are inspired by the #SSL 9080 XL K desk. At extreme values they can create lo-fi radio effects and telephone voices. This is a 4-band #EQ, each with a few fixed frequencies, the peculiarity is that many freqs has been inspired by different famous analog devices. For example, if we change the bass band from 50Hz to 110 we will see that not only does the center of the boost change but also the shape of the curve changes... 140 seems to be the same model as 50 and 110 the same as 220... 250 is a completely different model. FREQ 2 has curves very similar to 250 in the bass band, all their freqs seem to be modeled from the same device. 800Hz in band 3 looks similar to the highest freq of band 2, this can soften the change between both bands when looking for the sweet spot. 1.6 and 3.2 have completely different curves that seem to be completely new from what we have seen so far. 5k and 800Hz have similar curves just like 8k although the latter seems to have a wider Q. The high band includes a knob to change the type of filter from bell (default) to high shelf. Keep in mind that the Q-Clone display only reaches 16k so we cannot see clearly how the end of the curve changes, however this high on the spectrum these changes are felt more than heard. Finally, the most important thing when using this EQ is to forget all this, trust Manny and go with what sounds good.
