The Health Informatics Program, Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas is pleased to host the Health Informatics Lecture Series for the academic year 2024-2025 with guest speaker, Lisa Bazis, Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska Medicine. Lisa is a seasoned security executive with a passion for information security in a health care setting. She has over 20 years of IT experience with more than 15 in information security. In January 2018, she was named chief information security officer for the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and its primary clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine. Prior to that, she was the lead information security engineer at UNMC/Nebraska Medicine. Her passions are GRC (governance, risk management and compliance management) and security architecture; however, her team is responsible for all aspects of information security including malware analysis and defense, computer forensics and enterprise security. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP), and a CHIME Certified Healthcare Information Security Leader (CHISL), Bazis has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and her Master of Science degree in cybersecurity. This lecture was hosted on Zoom, April 9, 2025 at noon.
