Sharon Marley's third single from her debut album Firebird. Sharon reunites with her sister, Cedella Marley, and Rica Newell on the third single, “Island,” a roots-driven reggae anthem celebrating unity, womanhood, and love for Jamaica. Set against a resounding drum and bass driven reggae rhythm, Sharon whimsically recounts days of swimming, sipping roots wine and idyllic company (“only you deh wid mi ‘pon di island”). Cedella Marley, and Rica Newell, were key members of the group, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, alongside Ziggy, and Stephen Marley.
