Both of them. First-degree murder. The judge looked at the evidence and sent Jaylen Pendergrass and his mother Charlotte to trial for killing 17-year-old London Thomas. London's body was found in a plastic tote, taped shut, hidden for weeks while her family searched for her. The judge noted the tape around London's wrists was different from the tape on the bin, consistent with testimony that she was restrained before being placed inside. Charlotte knew where the body was the entire time. She never told anyone. The defense argued the state's key witness wasn't credible because she admitted she was drunk and high when Jaylen allegedly confessed. The judge disagreed. If convicted, both face mandatory life without parole in Michigan. ⏰ KEY MOMENTS 00:00 - Judge begins ruling 01:01 - "These defendants committed it" 03:31 - Photos show trauma consistent with beating 04:28 - Different tape on wrists vs. bin 05:52 - Charlotte bound over on all charges 06:16 - Jaylen bound over on same charges 07:03 - Judge finds witness credible despite intoxication OFFICIAL BACKGROUND REPORT https://www.justiceisaprocess.com/mi-... 📖 CASE BACKGROUND London Thomas was 17 when she disappeared on April 5, 2025. Her sister dropped her off at Jalen Pendergrass' home in Inkster around 4 a.m. She was never seen alive again. Her mother reported her missing the next day. Three weeks later, a friend of Charla Pendergrass contacted police and said she asked him to move a sealed plastic bin. He placed it in an SUV in Southfield. When investigators searched the vehicle, they found London's body inside. The medical examiner determined she died from asphyxia. Manner of death: homicide. Charla was initially charged with lying to a peace officer, but those charges were dismissed because the person she lied to was an FBI agent, and under Michigan law, federal agents don't qualify as "peace officers." Both were charged with second-degree murder in October 2025. At the preliminary hearing in January 2026, an ex-girlfriend of Jalen's testified he confessed details of the killing and that Charla told him to "get angry" and kill London. The judge upgraded charges to first-degree murder and bound both over for trial. Both defendants have pleaded not guilty. Jalen is held without bond. Charla's bond is $5 million cash. 📂 PLAYLISTS & RESOURCES 🌐 Website: https://justiceisaprocess.com ► Subscribe for Daily Coverage: / @justiceisaprocess ⚖️ ABOUT JUSTICE IS A PROCESS This channel continues the work of Steven M.
