In this video, we take a look at several Blohm & Voss dive bomber and ground attacker designs that sought to replace the Junkers Ju 87 Stuka for the German Luftwaffe in World War II, including the BV 237, P 168, P 178, P 193, P 194, P 196, and P 204. First we talk about a previous video on the same topic, in the P 192 dive bomber, before first talking about Blohm & Voss' first attempt to compete against the Ju 87 in the Ha 137. We talk about its failure, what Blohm & Voss did after that, and how that influenced their attempts to replace the Stuka later on. We then talk about all of the previously mentioned designs in order of how viable I think each of them would have been. We talk about the clear similarities many of these designs share to the BV 141 asymmetric design, how some of them built upon the concept, and how some of them may have damaged the concept. We end by talking about how none of the designs succeeded, and how that failure was largely unrelated to the soundness (or lack thereof) of their designs, and more due to the state of Germany and the war
