Taegeuk Pal Jang is also called taegeuk 8 or taekwondo form 8. In this demonstration you will get a quick overview of the movements and proper technique for this form. This video demonstrates the World Taekwondo style of this poomsae or form. Poomsae or forms are foundational to tkd training. It is essential to make sure your form and techniques for this poomsae are correct because it forms the building blocks for your future growth by ensuring you are able to demonstrate and use the techniques for each belt level together in a varied and coherent way and will be used throughout your taekwondo journey. This video is also a good refresher before you practice as a reminder of the proper techniques for this poomsae to improve your taekwondo skills. This World Taekwondo training style video features First Taekwondo of Arizona’s director of instruction Grand Master Rubben Lolly. “Master Rubben” has continuously practiced Taekwondo for over 39 years and has taught students for over 30 years. He is currently a 7th degree Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Federation) Certified Black Belt. He is an International Master Instructor licensed by the World Tae Kwon Do academy in Korea. In addition, he is a certified International Referee (IR) in both poomsae (Forms) and kyorugi (sparring). He coaches and trains athletes at all levels including International athletes, USA national champions, USA collegiate national champions and international collegiate champions, and several high-level cadet and junior national competitors in the USA as the head coach of both the Arizona State University Taekwondo team and The Arizona Pride (Arizona’s official state competition team) in addition to all of the budding practitioners at First Taekwondo Arizona. He practices and teaches both Traditional and Sport Taekwondo. Master Rubben began his Martial Arts Journey and was a 9-time National Champion in Ghana. While in Ghana he earned the position of National Team Captain for two years before he immigrated to the USA. In Ghana he trained many champions and competed on the national team with four of his students. Master Rubben also has vast experience competing in the USA and across continents. He is a 4-time US Open Champion plus a silver medal in poomsae (forms) in the Master Division and was U.S. national champion two years in a row. He has competed in many tournaments around the world including the world championship and has won numerous medals for championships in sparring (kyorugi), breaking (kyopa) and forms (poomsae) worldwide.
