Purchased my System 55 modules earlier this year, in combination with a Behringer Go! case. Didn't get the entire 55 series, but instead focused on building a traditional 3-voice synth in modular form. In fact, with a small compromise or two, I managed to fit a complete 3-oscillator synth on the case's bottom tier alone: (l to r) 1 Osc Driver, 3 oscillators, 3 VCOs, 1 LP filter, 1 HP filter, 3 envelopes, and 3 VCAs. The remaining space is currently filled by a 2HP Random module. Although it's tempting to lean back on the "...words can't describe..." cliche, I managed to come up with a few. Despite having zero experience with eurorack gear, I decided to jump straight into the deep end and get a faithful reproduction of one of my favorite vintage modular synths. And while it's nice to feel a sense of tapping into history, it's also nice not to be disappointed. Shortly after purchasing most of the components, life unfortunately intruded and I found it necessary to put extra curricular activities on hold until I was able to give them the attention and focus they required. Especially this unintuitive, inscrutable relic-y recreation. On a couple of isolated occasions, I've explored a few modules on a rather simplistic basis, but nothing of this magnitude. As such, this marks the first attempt at patching my System 55 with any sense of purpose or complexity. Itself, a result of months of insight and advice I gained from others far more knowledgeable.
