It took forever.... but we FINALLY got the run we were looking for! This past weekend had some crazy good attempts, and we finally managed to clutch one out. Saturday had about 5 deep runs and on Sunday I think it was on the 3rd deep run that we snagged this beauty! Every stream it felt like I had another 3 things here or 4 things there that I needed to investigate. It was honestly a bit overwhelming at times; there were moments where I wondered if we would ever reach this goal. But big shoutouts to you guys, your support really helped me push through this grind. And we learned so much along the way! Our previous best pace entering Dry Bowser was about 1:00:30, and that was all the way back on attempt 229 when we got the 1:03:59 PB. Nearly 700 attempts later, we FINALLY got another crack at Dry Bowser on insane pace. I didn't think it would take that long to get back there, but honestly it was probably a blessing in disguise. Think of all the things we discovered along the way: a Cluster Chuck RNG manip, a better understanding of the Tower of Fate's RNG mechanics and all of the possible room sets, a refined setup to consistently get the 1 cycle ending of the 1st section of (N) Tempo Temple, a dolphin cycle save in Porpoise 1 (although I think we missed it during this PB), and countless other speed / consistency improvements. We learned so much that after looking back on this run... I truly believe we could sub 1 hour this category. And although that is a cursed thought I have brewing in my mind, we are DEFINITELY moving on for now haha. Onwards to Riff 2! We have our work cut out for us though. PapaNug bopped our time with an absolutely ridiculous 4-death run.   / stew_
