DPP amends charge sheet against Maid caught on CCTV assaulting toddler

The Prosecution Friday substituted the Charge of Torture with the charge of Assault causing bodily harm that was initially filed against a Maid who has captured on video beating up a 1and half year old Baby. The maid Jolly Tumuhiirwe who appeared at the Buganda road magistrate court Friday accepted the charges that were filed against her before suddenly asking for forgiveness from the family. The Maid also told court that she was abused by some Members of the toddlers family which provoked to commit the horrible acts while the Baby’s family told court that what was shown in the video was little compared to the atrocities that were committed by the maid. Jolly Tumuhiirwe is expected to appear before court on Monday for sentencing. The Prosecution prayed for a maximum sentence of 5 years while the defense prayed for 2 years.
