Every year on the eve of the Edinburgh festivals, as the city holds its breath before the madness, we kick off the month by throwing the mother of all shindigs: The List Festival Party. As crowds descended upon Summerhall on Thu 1 Aug to celebrate the start of the festivals in style. To all those who helped us make it a success, we cannot thank you enough. We’d like to begin by saying a huge thank you to our sponsors Johnnie Walker and Innis & Gunn for making the night so incredible. Thanks to Johnnie Walker, a sea of red and black top hats are now awash over the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Innis & Gunn highlighted the wealth of laughter we have in store with their Scottish Comedy and Karaoke Room hosted by Gareth Waugh, which closed the evening with all our attendees singing their hearts out to the greatest hits past and present. Thanks also to our supporters Red Bull for serving up amazing tropical drinks, a fantastic DJ Robbie Tolson and an atmosphere of irrepressible fun. We also want to thank Popchips; to Ruffians and Bleach Please for our fabulous festival makeovers; to We Throw Switches for providing some old school arcade fun; to Locked In Edinburgh for locking up our attendees (of their own free will, of course); and to Silent Adventures, who led us on a boogie around the party. Thanks to our wonderful comperes Sian Bevan, Liam Withnail and Ginger Johnson for keeping everyone entertained; to the marvellous DJ Sarra Wild, who kept us spinning across the dance floor; as well as to all of our talented performers without whom the festivities wouldn’t have been half as fun.
