Post Surgery Instructions - Soft Tissue Swelling 1. After the procedure, you can expect to feel groggy and disoriented. This is due to the effects of anaesthesia on the brain. It may take several hours for the drugs to fully wear off. You may also have some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, or a sore throat, but these are usually temporary and can be managed with medication. 2. The sister will tell you the time when you can start oral intake. You can starts with sips of water every 10 minutes gradually. You can have khichadi/ idli at 5 PM. If at any point in time, you feel like vomiting stop and inform the sister whom I have instructed to give anti-vomiting medication. Normal diet to be resumed from the next day. 3. Please expect some amount of discomfort/ pain. If you think the pain is unbearable then please talk to the sister whom I have instructed to give higher painkillers if required. 4. Discharge will be done after you are clinical stable or after insurance approval. 5. Post-discharge a painkiller will be given which you can take on as and when basis (but not to exceed 3 tablet/ day). Sometimes an antibiotics may be added. 6. In a typical case post surgery you will be required to visit me after 10-12 days post surgery for stitch removal 7 I suggest for you to visit me in my clinic at Koramangala or Whitefield or Kalyan Nagar. Day and time we can subsequently and mutually agree upon. I will share the location over Whatsapp. 7. There is no restriction on diet and the diet which you were following before surgery needs to be followed. A special emphasis on a vegetarian source of protein like paneer and dal can be made in the first week especially if you have a tendency for constipation. 8.
