Blown Car Radiator Fan Motor Fuse: Causes And Diagnosis Explained. In this video I will talk about blown car radiator fan motor fuse. The radiator fan is fitted with a fuse to cut the electric supply and protect the component from damage during a surge. If your radiator fan fuse is faulty, the chances of destroying your radiator fan are high, so fix the problem as soon as possible. But first, here are some of the common reasons for a blown car radiator: • High amp from bad bearings may cause increased load and contribute to shorts in the circuit. • Bad wiring, causing shorting and the wire insulator to melt. Look out for the smell of burnt wires. • Excessive load on the electric circuit Here’s how to fix the fuse: If you suspect the bad fuse could be because of bad wiring, here’s how to check: • Unplug the radiator fan and pull out the fuse using a fuse puller. • Use a 12v incandescent light bulb to test the circuit by connecting the leads where the fuse was located. Ensure the light is not an LED one. • If the light goes on, you have a short, and if not, replug in the fans and consider that another part could be the problem. Once you are sure you have a blown car radiator fan motor fuse, the only option is to replace it. You can employ the services of a mechanic or do it yourself by following these steps: • Refer to your vehicle’s manual and find the fuse layout for the radiator fan. • Ensure your engine is cold and idle, then pop the fuse box open. • Gently remove the fuse for the radiator fan. • Inspect it to see if there are any broken wires. If the wire is intact, the fuse is functional. If broken, replace it. • Purchase a replacement fuse and insert it in the port. Then, close the fuse box.
